The International Telecommunications Union (ITU) is an organization that coordinates the operations of telecommunications networks, which rely on making measures in order to promote the development of communication technologies and eliminate harmful interference between radio broadcasts in various countries. In addition, the Union ensures technical assistance to developing countries in the field of telecommunications.
The cooperation with non-governmental organizations is very limited. Still, private organizations operating in the telecommunications field can become sector members in this International Union when they are allowed to attend meetings, and access publications and information.
