25th January 1927 - International Cotton Congress, Cairo Offset Lithography by the Survey Department, Cairo. Usage valid until 24 April 1927.
Egyptian cotton, of historically fine quality and recognized worldwide, is distinguished by its ‘long staple’. In addition, it has a unique smoothness that qualifies it to be used in the highest quality textile industries, unlike other cotton grown elsewhere in the world. The Egyptian government, throughout its history, has held many conferences to promote Egyptian cotton, including the 1927 conference on the occasion of which these stamps were issued.
