1965 - Massacre of Deir Yasin

Deir Yassin massacre occurred in the village of Deir Yassin, west of Jerusalem, on 9 April 1948 at the hands of two Zionists groups: Irgun and Lehi, two weeks after the signing of the peace treaty required by the heads of the nearby Jewish settlements and approved by the residents of Deir Yassin. A large number of the population: children, aged, women and youth were victimized. The number of victims of that massacre is in dispute. The Arab and Palestinian sources stated that 250 to 360 victims had been killed while Western sources stated that the number did not exceed 109 killed.

The Deir Yassin massacre was an important factor in the Palestinian migration to other areas of Palestine and neighboring Arab countries due to the horrific case of civilians Killed during this massacre. Perhaps it was the last straw that broke the camel's back in igniting the Arab - Israeli War in 1948. It added to the grudge that already existed between Arabs and Israelis.
