All-African Peoples' Conference (AAPC) is a series of conferences held in the late fifties and early sixties of the last century. Its goal was to promote the independence of African countries.
The popular participation in the work of the African Union is considered one of the basic features of this new continental entity. It’s the participation that was not lucky in the structure of the African Unity Organization (AUO). Whatever, the principle of popular participation did not come haphazardly; over the last five decades, particularly since the dawn of the African independence, many African calls and experiences crystallized about taking the reasons of popular participation in African political, economic and social decision-making on the level of the continent.
