President Gamal Abdel Nasser inaugurated the Nile Hotel that was earlier known as Nile Hilton Hotel in 1959 in its central outstanding location in the heart of   Cairo. It is overlooking the Nile River near the Egyptian Museum, the Arab League, the historical and commercial sites, and shopping areas. It was often visited by Hollywood stars, political leaders and business leaders.
