The Union shall include the members of the League of Arab States who have signed and ratified this Convention. States which become members of the League of Arab States will abide by this convention. Arab countries not participating in the League of Arab States can join them after the approval of two-thirds of the members. Cairo is the headquarters of the Federation and its General Secretariat.
The International Telecommunications Union (ITU) aims to cooperate in the regulation and dissemination of telecommunications among the countries of the Union, and to develop, improve and disseminate telecommunications in these countries, thus facilitating their use to maximum efficiency.
It reduces costs for people to improve their economic, cultural and social relations to exchange cooperation between the departments of the Union and the promotion of scientific and practical research.
In order to achieve the common interests of the Arab countries, it also encourages the establishment, development and improvement of telecommunication systems and networks in the new or emerging Arab countries by all possible means.
