UCI Road World Championship is the annual world championship for bicycle racing organized by the International Union, since 1927 for men and since 1958 for women. The champion is held at the end of the sports season and includes a group of bicycle road competitions such as tropical races and time trials in Elite, Junior and Under-23 Men's categories. Riders are competing during this championship among their national teams, unlikely the global orbit competitions which occurred within the framework of teams.

The competition grants, in each separate category, an iridescent T-shirt to the winner, and he holds it throughout the following season.
